Yearly History of FFL89
2001
Our third year on the internet and the hit total has reached 10,175. Gridiron Stompers left the league and a owner from the 1989-1990 season took over. Matt Stasch and named the team Beer Guzzling Idiots. The divisions remained the same and starting with the draft,a smooth running season. The draft was held at Mancini's again as the Brauer House was being remodeled. Division winners were, Young Guns, Animals and Lynx. Wild card was Towering Inferno. Young Guns and Lynx won their first divisions. Now all franchise's have at least one division title. We still use Commishware for our stats. The web site is slowly moving to ffl89.com but, it's now working. Rule changes include points for a defensive shutout, new tie breaker for the wildcard and changing the schedule of division games. Also a slight change in the championship setup. Animals and  JP Neil tied for the SB XI.

2002
To start the 2002 season there was some ownership changes. Dwayne(who still owes $200.00) and Tom have left the league and teams filled fast. Mark S. will once again be with the Bruise Brothers and Ed moved over to take the Sea Bass and renamed the team, Strange Brew. An old but new team owners will be Scott S. and Terry M. jr taking over the Crush. Draft day is complete and we have 4 sponsors, FFL89 store, Chicago Mudcats, BSAIR, and Stak Productions. It started out like the first year when we drafted on the porch in 1989, WARM, but was corrected with fans to help blow the hot air around in a warehouse office in Berkley. We are scheduled to go back in 2003, will see. New rules for 2003 will be a complete random draft order and a fixed date of Sunday before the draft date for protected players to be sent to the league.

2003 - 15th year
The season went really well and we finished our 15th year as a league. FFL89 hats were passed out to owners to say thanks. Pat of the Bulldogs took over the team Towering Inferno. A big change for 2003, we will use CBSsportsline.com for the leagues scoring. Nice move. New rules were, 5 player protect limit and a fee if more are kept for each player over the limit($5.00 each). Points for yardage were changed for backs and receivers to 1 point for every 25 yards. Division winners were: Beer Guzzling Idiots, JP Neil and M&M's. Wild card went to the Animals who just beat out Brewhogs by half a game.

2004
Changes are made to go to a 14 week schedule and a new playoff setup involving teams in weeks 15 through 17. After the 2003 season our Commissioner Rob was called to serve in Iraq. We want him back and the sooner the better. TL of the Lynx will take over until Rob comes home. The league reins have been handed over to the YG, RWB, BGI, SB, and BBR. What they have done to date shows the league is as sound as ever. RWB won the championship and Strange Brew won the first Toilet Bowl. BGI, Texans and Brewhogs won the divisions. Rob came back home and we had our banquet.

2005
We had our summer meeting in July and the changes for the season, draft order by last years finish and special team return yardage(1 point per 25 yards). All owners are back and Strange Brew has a partner. Trophy's that were missed at the banquet were handed out. We used for the 10th year the Draftkit for our draft. We are ready to start our 17th year.

2006
We started our 18th year at the Brauer House in Hillside. Season went well with JP Neil, Strange Brew and Red White and Blue winning the divisions. Lynx won the Championship and MGD the Toilet Bowl. Super Bowl winners were the Young Guns. Changes will be made for the 19th season and some rules need to be clarified. Two owners will be leaving and they are Pat Kling and Donald Mueller. The banquet will be held at the Elmhurst Public House. Trophy's will be given to the owners leaving for time spent in the league.
