2016
2015 season has come to an end with the banquet held on February 28th. New Hall of Fame members are Corey Dillon and Irving Fryar. All rules proposed passed with the exception of rule 4, office pool. This will be discussed at the draft for possible inclusion to the league. The pool will include teams that want to be involved. New rules passed were: rookie draft pick time changed from 5 minutes to 3 minutes, New year league season will now start on March 1 for waivers and trades only. No pickups until the drafts. Shorting the schedule between the rookie draft until the season draft. Changed Defensive safety back to 10 points from 6 points. Added Offensive recovery for TD ( OFRTD), Special teams safety (STY1PT), Fumble recovery two point conversion - kicking formation (FUM2PK),  Fumble recovery two point conversion - two point formation (FUM2PT). Special teams conversion return for TD (ST2PT) was added in 2015. No changes to the Super Bowl setup, will remain as in 2015. Added 10.00 per team league fee to be used  for the banquet only. Failed changes were switching from CBS. 2016 will be the 13th year with CBS. The Super Bowl will stil be with MyFantasyLeague.com. Strange Brew has added a owner to the team. Ed will have the help of  Ethan S. as a partner. To take the place of Towering Inferno, the new owner will be Ed Hayes, Irish Rovers. Ed was in the league from 2007-2010 as the owner of Schrutes, Cardiac Kids and Trash. Ed liked name changing and transactions. Welcome back. The rookie draft was held on July 24th in Stickney. Four teams attended the live draft, five were online and three used the auto-pick. Two had no choice as they were at the hospital in Wisconsin. The four round selections lasted about an hour and twenty minutes. Unlike the first draft in 2015, no team skipped their selections. In the draft, nine QB's, fifteen RB's, nineteen WR's, four TE's and one kicker were selected. McGibblets followed the Buccaneers by selecting Roberto Aguayo in the second round of the draft. Tampa Bay gave up two draft picks to move up and selected Aguayo while McGibblets gave up nothing. But, McGibblets was on auto-pick. Most rookies selected was six, Lynx and least selected was two, Young Guns. This involved a trade between the two teams, David Johnson to Young Guns for rookie draft rounds one and three. Food for the draft was, 18 hour beef, pasta salad, chips and brownies. We are now preparing for the roster cuts to twenty, the protect list and the regular season draft on August 28th at the Village Pub in North Riverside. The regular season draft is complete with 7 of the 12 teams at the live draft. Started out with computer problems. Never happened before Windows 10. After corrected, the draft went smooth. Italian beef, sausage and peppers and pasta for the eats. Now we will get ready for the regular season to begin. The regular season has ended with Warthogs finishing at the top with a 11-2 record. Who beat 'em ? Dad and little brother. North was Young Guns, East - Lynx and South - Shamrocks. Both Shamrocks and Lynx took the divisions in the last regular season week. Playoffs for the Championship and Toilet Bowl will begin with week 14. Time is zippin'. Wild cards for the championship are Texans and LA Warlords. Toilet Bowl teams are CA Dreamin' and Irish Rovers - Bye. Lucente's Rule @ JP Neil and Strange Brew @ McGibblets. Playoffs have ended, kind of. Young Guns beat Warthogs for the Championship. The first for the Young Guns. Toilet Bowl was won by Irish Rovers. This is the second for Ed H., one as Cardiac Kids. Now the kind of thing one owner said would never happen, Lynx and LA Warlords tied, 128-128. Lynx are awarded 1 point in the tie breaker. T Coleman - 17 pts., B Powell - 2 pts. This will become official on Thursday when the NFL stat corrections are out. Next is the weekly high with one winner. Irish Rovers win the weekly high with the point total of 100. Our second - WFSB - is over. JP Neil won SB XXVII, second was McGibblets and third the Warthogs. Six teams beat the old super bowl record, 390 points, set by NS Invaders in SB V, 1995. JP Neil - 428, McGibblets - 422, Warthogs - 416, Texans and CA Dreamin' - 408 and Lynx - 404.  February 26th will end the 28th season at the Village Pub, North Riverside. Then, March 1st will begin our 29th season. Finished the 2016 season with the year end banquet. Three special teams scoring categories have been added, Blocked punt, blocked field goal and blocked extra point. Each are scored as 2 points. A fee of 1.00 is now in place for adds and drops after 54 player moves. Special exceptions apply to IR and practice squad. Leagues budget is 30.00 to end the year. Several other rules were no change or failed. Working on the new season to begin in 2 days. Ca Dreamin'. Brian Boston, informed the league that he will not be back for 2017; The league will start looking for a new team owner. The 2017 season has now begun.

2017
Our league is once again a full twelve team league. Thanks to Lynx, Tony L., we have a new owner. Steve C. will take over the CA Dreamin'  franchise. NFL Rookie draft is next up at the end of April on the steps of Philadelphia's Museum of Art. This will be the first time the draft has returned to Philadelphia since 1961. Many problems trying to get Steve signed into the league and also trying to get FanDraft working properly with the Web (online drafting). Three days worked with FanDraft and the problem is with AT&T not letting email invites to go through. Black balled FanDraft. Since all of this may cause a problem on Rookie draft day and season draft, we are looking into a new draft program. PrimeTime Draft. Easier to set up and has everything we need. Online draft picks by owners remotely, pick countdown clock and pick announcements. No player pictures as in FanDraft. FanDraft worked we'll but, all the problems were with the Web end. One year no remote drafting, next year remote drafting, then again no remote drafting, now remote drafting with email invite problems. This comes close to the problems we had in 1997 and 1999. Rookie draft is in July and it's May. Need to get this fixed soon so as to have the drafts run as error free as possible. Don't want problems messing up a good time on draft day. 5/20/2017 - Steve C. is officially in, I'm Not Howie. Fixed the problems with FanDraft Web, we will be switching to PrimeTime Draft. Online drafting and live draft all works with no problems, Program should show all rounds on the screen. We'll see how it goes but, it seams as we we'll be drafting for the better. Twenty days to the rookie draft in Stickney, Illinois July 23rd, at 12 pm. The rookie draft is over. The first time all teams drafted four players each. But, I'm Not Howie, traded his second overall pick, C McCaffrey, to Lynx for Duke Johnson, G Bernard and a second round pick in the 2018 rookie draft. Four teams were at the live draft, I'm Not Howie, Lynx, JP Neil and Texans. All other teams were online. One week later 2 rookies have been released. Dede Westbrook, WR, Jacksonville (Shamrocks) and Jonnu Smith, TE, Tennessee (Texans).  We are starting the 20 player limit roster cuts, due August 5th. PrimeTime draft board, perfect with no problems at all. The rookie draft  ran perfectly. Will be using again for the regular season draft and hopefully for years to come.  Irish Rovers will now be STRONGBOW. This will be Ed's 5th year and 5th team name. Protect lists are complete and now the season draft is 1 week away. A record 95 players were protected with 475.00 in protection dollars. Lucente's Rule and Strange Brew are the two teams who protected zero. Draft was held at the Village Pub and Shamrocks, Lynx, JP Neil and Texans were there. The rest of the league was online. A few times the draft board locked up and probably caused by the Pub's WIFI but, the draft went well. Food was Italian subs and plenty to drink. With only 75 players to draft, the draft lasted about 2 1/2 hours. Bad weekend for some teams as a few players are gone before the start of the season. Mostly knee injuries. Next up, the league will start pickups on Tuesday, August 29th. Season went well. Division winners: E-Lynx, W-Warthogs, S-Lucente's Rule, N-Young Guns. Wilcards are: LA Warlords and Shamrocks. Teams in the Toilet Bowl are Byes: JP Neil and Texan. The rest are: StrongBow, McGibblets, I'm Not Howie and Strange Brew. Playoffs begin tonight(12/7).  In week 13, Lynx tore it up. Set several new records for scoring with a 204 point total beating the Young Guns (79). After week 14, I'm Not Howie, StrongBow, LA Warlords and Shamrocks were eliminated from the playoffs. Now the Semi-Finals begin. The teams are set for the Finals. Championship game: Warthogs @ Lynx, 3rd place: Young Guns @ Lucente's Rule and for the Toilet Bowl: JP Neil @ Texans. Champions have been decided: League - Warthogs, 2nd place - Lynx, 3rd place - Lucente's Rule and 4th - Young Guns. The Toilet Bowl - JP Neil.and 2nd - Texan. Week 17 weekly high winner - Texan 112 pts. Super Bowl XXVIII is complete. McGibblets - 485, Lucente's Rule - 479 and JP Neil - 460. All three are now the top 3 all-time SB scoring leaders. Next is the prep for the year end banquet and getting ready to begin the 30th season on March 1st, 2018. Time flies when ya get old.
